Meet our new CEO: Amy Hutson

As our founder Ellen Baldwin, steps down, meet our new CEO, Amy Hutson, who has joined the charity.

Hi, I'm Amy, and I'm the new CEO for Release Counselling and Therapy for Women, the charity which runs Mother Nuture, Second Nature, and our Wellbeing Days.

Why did you join the charity?

I had worked for the charity for over a year as the counselling service’s Clinical Supervisor, so I already knew what a wonderful organisation and team it has. I’m also a mum of two children and am passionate about supporting women, mums and birthing parents through their journeys in life, which can sometimes be challenging. I’m really excited to take on the role at Release

What did you do before?

I started my career as a journalist and worked in communications for different organisations and charities over the past few years. And in 2015, I re-trained as a counsellor in Humanistic Psychotherapy and have since worked for many charities, schools and the NHS as a counsellor and supervisor. I also work as a Trustee for a charity that houses young unaccompanied asylum seekers and refugees.

What are your hopes for the charity?

Release is a wonderful organisation, with a history of over 10 years of great work, so my first priority is to keep doing everything it does well. In the future, I hope we can support more women across Sussex and to keep growing!
